GAGFAH sponsors Heidenheim`s associations once again
- 150,000 Euro are handed over in 2009 for the third year in succession
- Support goes to social projects, sports and culture
- Heidenheim expresses its gratitude for the commitment
The GAGFAH GROUP will be sponsoring sporting, social and cultural projects in Heidenheim with 150,000 Euro this year once again.
Dr. Torsten Tragl, head corporate communications at the GAGFAH GROUP explains: "We will continue to provide associations and organisations that we have already supported during the previous two years with financial support this year. The bulk of our support will be directed towards social projects." He continued by stating: "with our commitment to social projects we express an awareness of our social responsibility as a company operating in the real estate business."
More than 100,000 Euro of the funds provided by GAGFAH will be used for social projects. These include the streetwork organisation "Pro Jugend Voith-Siedlung", the debt counsellors of the Diakonisches Werk, a church-based charity organisation, as well as the social work carried out by the "Prävention in Heidenheim" association. This association provides assistance for people encountering educational or language problems, as well as those who need assistance in the upbringing of their children. It also helps those threatened with homelessness and supports campaigns in kindergartens and schools. Caritas, which is starting up a homework support project in Heidenheim together with GAGFAH also receives funds.
GAGFAH promotes sports in Heidenheim with funding of more than 40,000 Euro benefiting various departments of the Heidenheim Sports Association, the Mergelstetten Sports Club, the Schnaitheim Gymnastics and Sports Association and SSG Heidenheim.
GAGFAH supports culture with its funding for the Heidenheim Opera Festival and the Friends of Open-air Theatre.
Lord Mayor Bernhard Ilg: "Heidenheim has made great strides towards becoming a town providing facilities to all generations. I am particularly pleased to see the advancements made in the two redevelopment areas as part of the "Soziale Stadt" scheme. There has certainly been a perceptible increase in the level of satisfaction demonstrated by those living in the areas concerned. Public and private investments further support this development. At the same time, Heidenheim is making a name for itself in sporting and cultural arenas. I am grateful to GAGFAH for backing us up in precisely these spheres of public life and that`s why I`m pleased about Gagfah`s promise to support us. The money is certainly well invested."
